Our Latest Message
"RESTORED: Healing the Inner Storm"
In a world filled with constant distractions and overwhelming circumstances, God desires for us to experience complete restoration, including healing for our minds. The Apostle Paul promises in Philippians 4:6-7 that we can be anxious about nothing and experience God's peace that guards our hearts and minds. Mental and emotional storms aren't signs of weakness but signals that we need God's healing. Four keys to restoring peace of mind include: naming the storm by identifying what causes anxiety, renewing your mind daily with God's truth, guarding your mental gates by filtering what you consume, and leaning into prayer and praise as your default response. Peace isn't the absence of trouble but the presence of Jesus, and victory comes when you keep your mind steadfast on Him.

Meal Contributions
- The suggested meal contribution for Lunch Club is $3.50 per meal unless you earn more than 185% of the Federal Poverty Rate.
- For those who earn more than 185% of the Federal Poverty Level, we suggest a contribution more in line with the actual meal cost of $7.50 per meal. All contributions go back into the program to allow for expanded reach and improved services.
- Persons who are not yet 60 or otherwise eligible may participate by paying the full $7.50 cost of the meal (this includes grandchildren and domestic partners under age 60 who are not a legal spouse, as well as paid staff or visitors that are not otherwise eligible).
- Guests are defined as someone who is not otherwise eligible. An otherwise eligible individual does not need to be a resident of the community or location serving the meal.
- While you do not need to be a resident to receive a meal, some locations may require that you are a resident, or pay a fee, to participate in recreational programs not funded by the Monroe County Office for the Aging Nutrition Program.

🎬 Film Screening & Community Dialogue: Death by Numbers
On Saturday, December 6 at 6 P.M., join City Councilmember Willie Lightfoot and the ROC Against Gun Violence Coalition for a powerful evening of storytelling, healing, and action at Prayer House Church of God by Faith (270 Cumberland Street).
We’re proud to present a one-night-only screening of the Oscar-nominated short film Death by Numbers—a poetic and gripping journey that follows a school shooting survivor as she confronts her assailant and reclaims her voice. This film doesn’t just tell a story—it opens a door to transformation.
🎤 Live Dialogue with Writer Sam Fuentes
Following the screening, we’ll host an intimate conversation with Sam Fuentes, the film’s writer and real-life survivor. Her courage and insight will guide a community dialogue on trauma, resilience, and the urgent need to address gun violence in our neighborhoods.
🍽️ Free Food Provided
Come early, bring a friend, and share a meal as we gather in unity and purpose.
🪑 Limited Seating – Reserve Your Spot
Space is limited, and this event is expected to fill quickly. Register now at tinyurl.com/deathbynumbers or scan the QR code on the flyer.
This event is more than a film—it’s a call to action, a space for healing, and a moment to stand together against violence. Let’s honor the voices of survivors, uplift our community, and build bridges toward peace.
