Where There's A Will, There's A Way
Where There's a Will, There's a Way: God's Power to Make a Way Out of No Way
Life often presents us with seemingly impossible situations - moments when our backs are against the wall, and we can't see any way forward. But there's a powerful truth that runs throughout Scripture: where there's a will, there's a way, and God has a way of working things out for His people.
What Does It Mean That God Has a Way?
God never makes a mistake and is always on time. Even when it seems like He's late, God has a set time to do everything. He has all power in His hands and can make a way out of any situation, no matter how impossible it appears.
The foundation of this truth is found in two key verses: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path" (Proverbs 3:5-6) and "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
How Did Moses Experience God's Way-Making Power?
When the Israelites found themselves trapped at the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army behind them, they faced an impossible situation. The people were afraid and crying out in worry. But God told Moses to stretch out his rod over the sea.
Moses obeyed, and God divided the sea, allowing approximately three million people to cross on dry land. What seemed like certain destruction became a pathway to freedom. This demonstrates that when we stretch out in faith on God's Word, regardless of how things look or what the enemy says, God will make a way.
What Can We Learn from Abraham's Test of Faith?
God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac. Abraham took a three-day journey to Mount Moriah, carrying wood, fire, and a knife. When Isaac asked where the lamb for sacrifice was, Abraham replied, "My God will provide himself a lamb."
Abraham's obedience was rewarded when an angel stopped him from harming Isaac, and God provided a ram caught in the thicket. This story teaches us that when we obey God, even when we don't understand, He will provide what we need.
How Did God Provide for Elijah During the Drought?
When God told Elijah to pronounce a three-year drought, He also instructed the prophet to go to the brook Cherith. There, God had already prepared ravens to bring Elijah meat and bread twice daily. When the brook dried up, God had another plan ready.
This shows us that God already has things in place for our provision. We just need to keep going and trust that He will open doors at the right time.
What About When We Face the Lion's Den?
Daniel faced persecution for his faithfulness to God. Despite threats, he continued praying three times a day and was thrown into the lion's den. But God shut the lions' mouths, and Daniel emerged unharmed.
When we face opposition for our faith, we shouldn't give up. The devil wants us to quit when difficulties arise, but we must keep going, keep praying, and keep trusting God to deliver us.
How Does God Walk with Us in Our Darkest Hours?
Personal testimony reveals how God's presence becomes tangible in our most desperate moments. When facing a loved one's emergency surgery, walking alone in a hospital corridor and talking to Jesus, His presence can be felt so strongly it's as if He's walking right beside us in perfect step.
God promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." When we call on Him in our midnight hours, like Paul and Silas did in prison, He responds with power that can shake the very foundations and open doors that seemed permanently closed.
Why Is It Important to Be Ready?
The signs of the end times are all around us - natural disasters, family conflicts, violence, and moral decay. Just as in Noah's day, people had opportunities to enter the ark but chose to ignore the warnings. When the flood came, only eight people were saved out of the entire world.
The door of salvation won't remain open forever. Now is the time to seek the Lord while He may be found and call on Him while He is near. We never know when it might be our last warning.
What Does God Offer to Those Who Return?
For those who have walked away from God, He says, "Return, backsliding children, for I am married to you." All that's required is to turn back, confess our faults and sins, and God will show mercy.
Like the prodigal son, we can come home and say, "Father, I have sinned against you," and find forgiveness and restoration waiting for us.
Life Application
This week, identify one seemingly impossible situation in your life and choose to "stretch out your rod" in faith. Instead of leaning on your own understanding, acknowledge God in that specific area and trust Him to direct your path. Stop trying to figure everything out yourself and give that burden completely to God.

- What situation am I facing that seems impossible right now?
- Am I trusting in my own understanding or truly leaning on God?
- How can I practically "stretch out in faith" this week regarding this challenge?
- If I'm not ready spiritually, what steps do I need to take to return to God?
