Let's Talk About Jesus
Let's Talk About Jesus: Why the World's Greatest Need Is Still Jesus Christ
In a world overflowing with opinions, trending topics, and endless noise, one conversation keeps getting pushed to the background. It's time to bring it back to the center. It's time to talk about Jesus.
Why Is Everyone Talking About Everything Except Jesus?
People are talking about politics, inflation, crime, celebrities, social media trends, and artificial intelligence. Platforms are everywhere. Podcasts, comment sections, and social feeds are full of voices weighing in on everything imaginable.
But in the middle of all that noise, the one conversation that matters most is being drowned out.
The early church changed the world with one central message: Jesus saves. Jesus heals. Jesus delivers. Jesus lives. And Jesus is coming back. That was it. That was the message. And it turned the world upside down.
The Most Important Question Every Generation Must Answer
In Matthew 16:13-15, Jesus asked His disciples a direct question: "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" And then He made it personal: "But whom say ye that I am?"
Peter answered without hesitation: "Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God." - Matthew 16:16
Every generation eventually arrives at the same crossroads. It has nothing to do with politics, personal preference, or popular opinion. It is a spiritual question. Who is Jesus to you?
Some call Him a teacher. Some call Him a prophet. Some call Him a historical figure. But the answer that changes everything is the one Peter gave: the Son of the living God.
What Happens When Culture Tries to Redefine Everything
Culture is constantly trying to redefine truth, morality, family, and identity. The world shifts with every new trend, every emotional wave, every political wind.
But Jesus remains unchanged. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
When everything around you is shifting, that is exactly why Jesus deserves to be the center of the conversation. He is the one constant in a world that cannot stop changing.
Why Are So Many People Still Searching and Coming Up Empty?
People are scrolling endlessly. They are searching for peace, purpose, fulfillment, acceptance, and hope. But they keep looking in the wrong places.
Some search in relationships. Some in money. Some in success. Some in popularity. And many people have everything they thought they wanted and still feel completely empty inside.
Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
A soul-sized void cannot be filled with worldly solutions. Only Jesus can fill what sin created. No amount of technology, convenience, or connection can substitute for what only He provides.
We Have More Than Ever Before, So Why Are People More Lost?
This generation has more technology, more convenience, and more ways to communicate than any generation before it. And yet people are more anxious, more lonely, and more fearful than ever.
Information has increased, but wisdom has decreased. Connection has increased, but compassion has decreased. Communication has increased, but understanding has decreased.
The answer is not another app, another movement, another program, or another law. The answer is Jesus. We have become technologically advanced but spiritually weak. And the solution has not changed.
What Does It Mean for Jesus to Have Preeminence in Your Life?
Colossians 1:18 says that in all things Jesus should have preeminence. Not prominence. Not a place on the list. First place.
The problem in many lives is not that Jesus has been rejected outright. It is that He has been quietly demoted. He has been replaced by schedules, entertainment, opinions, and platforms. People know more about celebrities than they know about Christ. They know more about influencers than they know about the heart of God.
Jesus does not want a place in your life. He wants first place.
What Happens When You Carry the Light of Jesus Into a Dark World?
Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. When you carry the light of Jesus Christ, darkness cannot comprehend it. It will be repelled. People will be drawn, delivered, and set free simply because of what is living inside of you.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. Your testimony is one of your most powerful tools. But a testimony of joy and victory only draws people in when it is genuine. If the church looks like the world, why would anyone want what the church has?
Even on the worst days, a life with Jesus is a good life. That is worth talking about.
What the World Still Needs More Than Anything Else
The world still needs Jesus. Families need Jesus. Schools need Jesus. Communities need Jesus. The streets need Jesus. The addicted, the sick, the lost, the broken, and the hurting all still need Jesus.
People are looking for solutions everywhere except where the real answer is found. The answer is not another political party taking power. It is not another social movement. It is Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
If we spent as much time talking about Jesus as we spend talking about our problems, revival would break out. If we spent as much time lifting up Jesus as we lift up our opinions, hope would be restored.
He said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." - John 12:32
He did not say lift up your opinion. He said lift up Jesus, and He will do the drawing.
The Church Must Never Stop Talking About Jesus
The world has plenty of commentators. What it needs is witnesses. People who can say what Jesus has done for them, what He is doing right now, and what He is able to do.
The pulpit was never meant to be a platform for social agendas or personal opinions. It was given for one purpose: to preach the gospel. Jesus Christ saves to the uttermost. That is the message. That has always been the message.
Anything receiving more attention than Jesus has become a competitor for your heart. And it is time to bring the conversation back.
Life Application
This week, pay attention to your conversations. Notice what you talk about most, what you scroll through, what captures your passion and your time. Then make a deliberate choice to bring Jesus back to the center of at least one conversation every single day. Whether it is with a coworker, a family member, a neighbor, or even in your own prayer life, let Jesus be the focus. Lift Him up in your words, your attitude, and your actions.
Ask yourself these questions as you go into the week:

- If someone listened to my conversations this week, would they hear more about Jesus or more about everything else?
- Has Jesus truly been given first place in my life, or has He been quietly pushed aside by other priorities?
- Am I searching for peace, purpose, or fulfillment in places that can never actually provide them?
- What would it look like for my daily life to be a genuine witness that draws others toward Jesus?
